Here is some advice for recent college grads entering the workforce!
Eddy Ricci, Jr., CFP ®, CEPA ®: You don’t have to figure out your entire career in year one. Just focus on being “the best” at the current role you are in. If you are “the best” more opportunities will come and people will also remember you for being dedicated and great at what you do, even decades later. Figure out a routine you can be proud of, take personal responsibility, and work your behind off!
Michael P. Connaughton, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®: One of the most impactful things you can do as an emerging young professional is make an effort to network. Yes, you’re going to have less free time than you did in school. And yes, you need to go above and beyond in your new job, but creating relationships with outside professionals is paramount. Through networking you’ll gain new perspective, learn from others experience, open new doors, and potentially benefit from mentorship that can have a lasting impact. So get out of our comfort zone and go build some new professional relationships!
